There is a common misconception that since Groove workspaces are shared among peers,
if my computer goes down, I just restore Groove to a new computer and retrieve the
spaces from the other members.
However, consider the following scenarios:
- What if someone either accidentally or maliciously deletes a critical space for
all users? We have seen examples of people wanting to remove a workspace from
a Groove account and accidentally selected "Remove this workspace for all members"
rather then "Remove this workspace from all my computers" and then clicked through
the warning dialogs without realizing what he clicked.
- You have an important document that a member either accidentally or maliciously
deletes or modifies and you need the original back?
These are times that you either hope someone was offline and didn’t synchronize,
so they can backup the space before the changes were made, OR you
use a backup solution like GForce.Backup.
